anyone watch these shows on MOJO? They’re pretty entertaining.
I love bobby g. that guy cracks me up. I can’t really get into start up junkies.
Watching some of these shows gives me hope, if they made it hell I can make it. Plus, the french girl on wall st warriors is a fox
yes, I tivo all three. love the Bobby G show. I’ll watch Wall Street Warriors every now and then. I’m just glad they don’t have that blond lawyer who was obsessed with status from last year.
After seeing this thread, I tried to do some research about Bobby G… cant find much out there. I am not sure when they filmed the show but I see Clearly Canadian has just tanked since the summer. I dunno, in all honestly it seems Bobby might want to think more about the growth of the companies he has invested in and less on private jet shopping and such. But who am I to say, I am 23, poor, pricing analyst and he is a billionare venture capitalist. Maybe I should do more shopping and less research.
Billionaire? Can you confirm that? I can find the BG Capital website, and from the show he’s clearly in the $100M plus range, but I think we’d have heard of him otherwise if he was that loaded.
Also WSW is pretty entertaining, especially the meathead boiler room guys. Hope they got their clients out of SNDK.
Its all about the blond who reads advanced astrophysics (without the math) in her spare time NakedPuts Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Also WSW is pretty entertaining, especially the > meathead boiler room guys. Hope they got their > clients out of SNDK.
I actually just made up the fact that he is a billionaire… but the point remains cause I am not a mutlti-millionaire either. Right now, Id be satisfied with a networth of $0. GenY
Anyone see last night’s episode of WSW? Laetitia turning down that structured finance gig in Paris (50k euros + bonus) for a forex trading gig in NYC? WTF was she thinking. I was just so furious with her.

Thanks for spoiling it for me. I have it on DVR
please don’t spoil…i haven’t seen any of these shows yet but they sound good. on another note, has anyone here seen lipstick jungle? any guys here been made to see lipstick jungle by their girlfriend? if so, how did you break free?
What is lipstick jungle?
^ props to numi for admitting something so embarrassing! i did see that wall st warrior episode. i agree, she is crazy. she would have worked her butt off, but she has a rare skill set (french english speaking w/ a nyu degree) and probably would have made great money in restructuring. Seems like a great time to be in restructuring…
i didn’t even realize wall street warriors was a real show till i read this thread. i thought it was going to be a posting about big ballin’ on analystforum or something like that. drs, i don’t think my gf seriously thinks it’s a good show. probably just a creative way to keep me around the apartment. quite clever, really, so i’ll have to come up with some creative ideas for an escape next thursday.
it is a huge stretch to call wall st warriors a real show. that being said, it is very entertaining. the boiler room stock brokers are jokes. they put all of their clients money into SanDisk, buying 1-10k shares at a time for them.
^ I don’t get it. Who would actually give those jokers money?
fools, dang fools… those guys are interchangable with used car salesmen… My favorite line: “The street is expecting sandisk earnings to be at .32 per share, we think it will come in much higher” Oh yeah? Based on what? These guys probably have no idea what sandisk even does…
Lipstick Jungle, ughhhh kills me every Thursday! Its bad enough that our house sports the 6-season Sex and the City DVD book, but now this? I mean would it kill them to make one of the women a Wall St type talking about crack spreads and covering her shorts…that might at least do somethin for me…ay-yay-yay…sounds like I need another living room…
Beautiful, take a look at this guys… here is a summary of the disaster the boiler room brokers are in with SanDisk… this is courtesy of a blog called 1440 Wall St… "But less storied members of Wall Street have been crushed by the stock as well, including the aggressive retail brokers showcased in the season’s Wall Street Warriors, which debuted just last week on MOJO channel. Lance moved to New York to “get rich or die trying”. Lance: The turnover rate in this business, especially at a company like this, is like the turnover rate of a strip club. Lance and his firm were working Sandisk hard in episode one, pitching via cold calls and trying to drum up interest. Lance to client: The reason I am giving you a call this afternoon is a company called Sandisk corporation. Lance to camera:Basically what I try to do is, just paint a pretty picture with the story. Lance to client: Over the next couple of months we are creating a tremendous demand for flash based memory. Can you see that? Am I painting you a clear picture here? Lance to camera: “ There is really no better feeling that getting a guy on the phone, that you really don’t know, and forcing some stock down his throat, and he ends up buying it. Thats what gets me going every day” Sandisk was trading at $44 the day he was pitching it; the segment was likely filmed during the company’s earnings release in the fall. With the stock trading at $25 going into earnings tonight, Lance is basically screwed. As he said, “My future basically rests with Sandisk” That is a dicey stock to bet the ranch on, Lance. A big move after tonight’s earnings might come too late to save Lance, or Legg Mason for that matter.
