this ref is a joke
Bam, bitches!!!
USA!!! USA!!!
Thank you Portugal. Zero shots on goal for USMNT is a bit depressing though.
Great news for Belgium. Rather face USA than either Portugal or Ghana.
How does Graham Zusi keep getting tabbed to take the corners for the US? I didn’t see the Ghana match, but watched every minute of both the Portugal and Germany matches and I think he only placed one decent corner out of 7 or 8 attempts.
us cant control the ball, klinsman tired of watcjing this garbage
Whats the “maximum ban” - ban for life? Prison sentence? I just hope Chiellini is OK and would make a full recovery at this point…
I think the ban is fair
US holed up and played defense, which is really the only thing they could do against ze Germans. Only times the US had even a remote spark of offense was on the counter. Considering the score was 0 - 1, I’m feelign pretty good about that…I mean, possession was 64% to 36% in favor of Germany.
I would agree with you on a full-strength Ghana (which they wouldn’t have been if they advanced), but seriously on Portugal? They were pounded by the Germans, could only manage a draw against the US when they desperately needed the win, and could only manage a win against a depleted Ghana because of an own-goal. I think a full-strength Ghana was the 2nd strongest team in the group and Portugal was actually the worst.
US Defense so good. The transitions we couldn’t capitalize on. I think out of all the games I’ve seen so far this had the least amount of “injuries” that weren’t necessary. I hope the players that knocked heads get better for the next round.
will some team please put this disgusting USA team out of their misery. All the stars have aligned for these smucks thus far and I think Algeria should punish them in the round of 16
I would sentence you to community service for 500 hours if you were in my court right now.
They won’t be meeting Algeria lest they play in the final.
Yeah, it was a pretty mediocre performance. Offered nothing going forward. Expecting a clean loss against Belgium.
Max ban is 24 months. Out of curiosity, why do you think the ban is fair? This guy is a repeat offender in biting people among other offenses. Let’s not even talk about the inhumane aspect of it. If a colleague of yours walked up to you and bit you maliciously, what would be a suitable punishment for them? The argument can be made that liverpool is being punished for actions he performed whilst away on international duty but they had to have realized the kind of player they were dealing with when they signed him.
^
Pepe stamped on a players head yet recieved a 10 match ban. I’m not sure stepping on a players head is any better than biting someone’s shoulder. Not really disagreeing with your previous statement, just putting it out there.
Also, I am not sure what jurisdiction FIFA has over the English FA whom Liverpool answer to. I wouldn’t be surprised if Liverpool take this decision to court after assesing their legal options. Needless to say the action itself was pretty inexcusable.
Back on topic, caught the last 10 min of the game but am i mistaken in saying the USA got men behind the ball and attempted to play on the break? It is a terrible way to play football but you make do with what you have i suppose. They’ll get knocked out soon.
Netherlands have a clear path to the Semis. Argentina have to play the Swiss and Belgium before the Netherlands. Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Uruguay are all in the same bracket and we will see France Germany in the quarters.
Classic world cup, become really difficult to call.
^ Pepe is another dimwit. His should be handed a max suspension for stomping on someone’s head. These characters with barbaric actions in football should get more time than 4 months or 10 games. That’s a slap on the wrist in my opinion.
I honestly think it’s been an open world cup from the very beginning. I still don’t know who will win it. The Netherlands look dominant though. Chile and Colombia may also put up good fights. Argentina is not that good and neither is Belgium. Belgium should beat the US though.
Ha Ha.
If Colombia had Falcao fit for this world cup i could really have seen them doing it. The high intensity quick pressing game they play is incredible to watch.
Chile just lack that star quality barring Sanchez and Vidal. I could see them doing Brazil though if they really turn up. Belgium are rubbish but Argentina are a curious case.
If they can shift up the gears now and gather momentum they have enough to go all the way.
I think it is ok because each of these three incidents were in different competitions with different governing bodies, I’m not sure how FIFA looks at sentencing, but I don’t think it’s fair to take into account actions from different competition. Now if he decides to bite some guy in an EPL match…I think it is a different story.
