Just finished the MC part… got 71%. blah. Zero progess from last time. Got 13/17 on ethics. Which were the questions in ethics that were wrong?
71% is not bad bro. You will be alright
Yeah its okay, but not in the comfort zone area. I would love to see that number be at around 75-80 instead consistently. Did make 2 bonehead mistakes… and another 3-4 I think i perhaps could have gotten. The last big chart on the 5 levels of uncertainty… why on earth did they ruin our lives with that. Will take so long to memorize…
The chart on uncertainty is tough. I am just going to read it a few times tonight and that is all I can do. Also, I think some of the schweser ethics questions were a bit suspect. I am even more suspicious now knowing they had some wrong on the Final Review. Anyway, my plan for this evening is to review my mistakes on the Study Guide questions, go over the Secret Sauce for hedge funds and structured products and go over my notes/quick sheet. Wake up in the morning and go over my notes and the quick sheet.
Good luck Big ML for tomorrow. Please share your experience Two extra days for us wouldn’t make much difference for us who are taking on 23rd.
GOOD LUCK BIG ML!!! Your gonna destroy the exam!! Be sure to write here after what you thought!!
Thanks for the well wishes. Back from the belly of the beast. The good… 2/3 of the essays were in my “sweet spot” as much as any essays can be. Still feeling my confidence is shot after Level III of CFA. Find that I am second guessing myself a ton. That being said, I had more than enough time (maybe too much) and I am 100% sure I didn’t completely bomb it. The bad… The MCQ’s were very difficult for me and there was not enough time on the MCQ portion for review. I ended up with 20 or so questions in my review bin, which was about equal to my worst prcatice exam. With a little more time I definitely could have gotten a few more points as I left one of the longer problems to the very end as it was slightly more difficult for me at least. The ugly… there were 3-4 questions that I had NEVER seen covered in any of the materials. That is the price you pay when you primarily rely on third party materials, but it was really frustrating to have never even seen them at all. Anyway, I have a decent chance at passing. At the very least I am better at my job for having studied and I know I can kill this thing if I have to take it again. Just wish work wasn’t so brutal the last 2-3 weeks.
Big ML, Thanks for the feedback. 2/3 essays in the pocket and assuming out of the 20 or so mcq’s, e if you get half right, I would say you have very good chances of passing! I think we all could have used a little more time studying for this since the material is a bit deeper than level 1. and whats up with CFA L3? a band 10? I fight my battle tomorrow!
Thanks for sharing ML. Good to know that it went alright. I hope to get 2/3 essays in my sweet spot as well. I would prefer essays coming from SS8 and Ethics…would be nice. How many numericals were there in both parts?
Just finished the Final review MC from Schweser… banged out an 81% which got my confidence up a bit. Great job ML… sounds like you did really well. Quick question for you guys out there… do you think its important to know the violation of the standards … aka saying in an essay question “this person violated standard #5, which is blah blah blah” Do we have to know it to that detail?
Big ML, how would you rate the MC questions compared to the final review? Easier or harder?

It says in the Schweser that you don’t have to and I would concur with that.

were you able to find few gimmies like definition, plug and chug etc etc. How many numericals you saw in the exam?
Arrghh!!! I could use another week…I propose they allow you to take the exam one week after you find out you flunked the last week in October rather than have to wait until March! Way too much lag time.
Pupdawg are you as tired as I am of reading over the same stuff over and over? lol Tomorrow I am going to do the CAIA sample questions and then just a light read over in the afternoon… thats it thats all.
yes I am very tired and just want to get it over with. Essay is going to suck a$$. I am reviewing essays right now and will do some formulas today. Tomorrow- Light read, review numericals, formulas etc. Day off from work for me. I am eagerly waiting for Friday 1pm EST.

Don’t get me wrong, the material was completely doable. My personal circumstances just prevented me from being where I wanted to be in terms of my studies. Have fun tomorrow.

The essay’s are what worry me the most out of everything. You get 1 question you don’t like and your on the bubble and if you get two then forget it… Impossible to recover. I wonder if it’s like the GMAT where you get a random pool of questions or everyone gets the same
