Just got back from Vegas this past weekend. Partying at Tao and Lavo with LeBron and co in there for Bosh’s bachelor party dubbed The Hangover 3 (Lame. Go Bulls), I have a new found appreciation for the following songs: Rihanna - Only Girl (More for the beat) LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem (Every day i’m shuffling…lol) Martin Solveig and Dragonette - Hello Jay-J & Halo Varga with Latrice - Make My Heart (Original Mix) Morgan Page (ft. Lissie) - The Longest Road (Deadmau5 Remix) The last 2 were actually from the pool party at The Palms. Ditch Fridays. Highly recommended.
I’m just addicted to ‘LMFAO - Party rock anthem’ these days! feel like shuffling everyday…lol

Highly recommended. heh, i saw deadmau5 last night, it went off hard it was a great show. one of the opening dj’s played a LMFAO remix. deadmau5 also dropped a few dubstep tracks i never heard before, it blew my mind, I never though that music would get so popular.
Time to revamp this thread. Some serious stuff has happened. First of all I got beats fever right now. Above & Beyond - Sun & Moon is a sick track Ok, but then we are missing some critical hip hop nonsense. Watch the Throne has dropped. Carter 4 just leaked. One track “It’s Good” has a Wayne to Jay-Z diss in it. Publicity stunt? Serious dislike? I thought Wayne was witty in his remark, but overall I listened to Carter 4 and was unimpressed. As much as Watch the Throne didn’t hit the mark, this was REALLY OFF. Trash album. I would be legit embarrassed if I had to put my name on it. What’s good in the music world AF?

Just got back from Maine…dude, I revisted The Last Waltz by The Band (with many famous guests). I know it’s not rap, metal or anywhere near recent, but probably one of the top concerts ever. Video directed by Martin Scorsese. Links: Helpless w/ Neil Young http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BREYCGWOouw Caravan w/ Van Morrison http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44wDwMQVqCc&feature=related It Makes No Difference w/ nobody, just the band and some sick sax http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJXc0NRCmRQ Up on Cripple Creek w/…just the band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDnlU6rPfwY Acadian Driftwood is probably my favorite song from it, but I couldn’t find the vid.
This is quality: Florence and the Machine - What the water gave me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=am6rArVPip8&ob=av2e
THE STATE OF THE RAP INDUSTRY First and foremost everyone knows WTT dropped (if you don’t, get out from your nuclear bunker, Irene wasn’t that bad). Slowly becoming a better album with every listen. Originally I was dissappointed, but this album has not let us down by any means. (SIDE NOTE: THE OTIS VIDEO IS NUTS). Secondly, LITTLE WAYNE. Yes people, LITTLE, this dude has LITTLE talent left in his LITTLE brain. Carter IV was horrendous. A co-worker told me he downloaded and liked it, I went back to typing a forum post on AF (aka I told him this: " "). If I hear one more time about how he’s a martian or whatever I will go find a real martian to challenge him to an alien speaking contest (which LITTLE Wayne might win, because he definitely doesn’t speak English). That’s beside the point. This guy isn’t evening trying to rap anymore, he just wants to stand on a stage and pretend to strum a guitar like he has real musical talent. What’s with this trend anyway?? Also, trying to diss Jay-Z, SMH. Stuff to look forward to/get caught up on: 1) Drake. Say what you will about Aubrey, he’s got a new album coming out. Say he likes watching lifetime movies and giving old ladies hugs for giggles, this guy makes good music. A few of the songs have been released. I liked “Club Paradise.” 2) G-Eazy. I know what your thinking, lxwarr30 who is this guy? He’s just some white kid who raps over indie beats. It’s worth a listen. To get started I suggest listening to “Waspy,” “Netflix,” and “The Outsider.” This is NOT Eminem so don’t expect anyone’s grandmother to be talked about in a disgusting manner/wives get beaten (thank god). I could rant about Eminem (because he’s terrible - I heard he still makes music too), but I’ll spare you. 3) Gorilla Warefare Tactics. This a group of witty NYU students who flow. They make real hip hop music. Check out “Temptations” and for you Star Wars fans - “Dark Saber Jedi.” This is some pretty nerd/swag college rap. 4) Childish Gambino. AKA Troy from Community AKA Donald Glover (the comedian). His new album is coming out real REAL soon. This is going to be epic to say the least. One of the most refreshing artists I’ve heard since Drake first came on the scene. If you haven’t been aware of who this guy is (and you like rap, or if you don’t like rap) you need to listen to “The Culdesac” in its entirety. But for those with small attention spans I suggest “Glory,” “Let Me Dope You,” and “I’m On It.” This guy is extremely talented former writer for 30 Rock. He was recently signed to some indie label that also houses Mumford and Sons. There are hints that he might have a song with them. This is lxwarr30, signing off on the state of the rap industry.
Disagree on Carter IV - it’s bubble gum’ish but whoever is writing (him or some super witty ghost writer) is still killing it - he’ll say some of the dumbest stuff and then kill a bar - I’m still rolling with Wayne. I’ll check out 2-4, but love me some drake - Take Care is going to be blazing. WTT is mad hot.
interesting…cant figure out how carter iv ( prob 3 hot songs total) is outselling wtt so much …tis the state of the yoouth i guess…wtt is the best rap album in 2-3 years …pretty much agree with all that was said before …peath
Free Spirit (Drake & Ross) anybody??
cosign on florence and the machine too
Not sure if anyone mentioned Cracks by the Freestylers, but it’s incredible. Anyone know of any other similar music like that?
My theory is the quality of recorded/released music declines to equal the price paid, over time. Since the collapse of the music industry there is sure a lot of crap. I’m a music lover and it is slim pickings right now…
